“Homesteader of the Year"

Mockingbird Meadows has been named by Mother Earth News as one of six 2013 Homesteaders of the Year.  The national award is given each year by the magazine to kick off International Homesteading Education Month.   Mockingbird Meadows includes a very unique farm model that combines sustainable beekeeping and medicinal herbs with a focus on education.  Read the upcoming August/September 2013 magazine for more on the farm.

“Artisinal Artistry”

The Tasting Room Magazine has selected OYO Whiskey’s brunch cocktail “Sage" as one of the best as selected by a panel of 11 judges in Louisville, Kentucky.  We are proud that Mockingbird Meadows’ sage-infused honey sets OYO apart from the competition!

The Washington Post has selected Mockingbird Meadows as one of the best finds at the 2008 Slow Food Nation Taste Pavillion held in San Francisco, California.  Mockingbird Meadows was selected by Slow Food Columbus as one of two artisanal food producers to represent Ohio in the national food event and provided approximately 30,000 tastings of our infused honeys during the weekend event.

“National Barn of the Year”

The design of our main barn (made specifically to house our honey and herb-drying operations and to mimic the nostalgic look of a traditional red barn with white crossbucks) was recently selected nationally for a "Barn of the Year" award.  Thank you Wicks, the manufacturer, for selecting Mockingbird Meadows at its national meeting and a great thanks to local builder EvCo Structures in Mechanicsburg, Ohio, for making our vision a reality.
